Mount Misery
Was anyone else aware of the fact that Donald Rumsfeld's little corner of the world in Maryland -- in a tony, WASPy, neighborhood no less -- is a country manse called Mount Misery? And the reason for its apt nomenclature is because it was the same place that slavedriver Edward Covey used to break slaves through intense beating -- most famously, Frederick Douglass? If you've read Douglass's autobiography, Mount Misery is the place he's talking about.
And it still stands, today. And our Secretary of Defense lives there.
